Our First Night

Last night was our first night as husband and wife with our new little girl. It's amazing how some of this "mommy and daddy" stuff comes naturally, but it's also really scary how many things that you don't know! I cannot begin to explain the blessings that have fallen into place in having Elloree and last night was no exception. We put her down around 10 - 10:30 and she slept until about 12:30. We ate, rocked, sang and had our diaper changed and went back down. To the blessing of Chris and me she didn't wake back up until 5:00 am this morning! God knew when he created me that I didn't work well on little sleep...it was proof last night that he truly made her for me! I was really nervous that I wouldn't hear her. I mean I can sleep through my dear husbands snoring so I thought for sure that I would miss her little cries, but I popped right up when she started fussing. It's really been neat to see how one little person can change so much in you. I know I have said "I" so much but I need to mention that by no means has this been a one man event. I have to give so much credit to Chris; he has taken this whole journey with both feet in. From holding, feeding, changing her he has been wonderful. It's crazy when they're together how handsome he looks as a dad. He wears it well and I could not ask for a better team mate. Elloree has truly become the twinkle in his eye. It was neat last night when we were getting her ready for bed he was talking to her and she just could not take her eyes off of him. I think she can already recognize his voice and I love it. Life is good!!! Life is really good!!!
