Adoption Update

Chris and I are so excited. We actually feel like we're getting somewhere in this crazy long journey of adopting. We have finally completed our 14 hours of parenting classes and now we're scheduled to have our DHEC inspection and Fire Marshal visit on the 23rd. Although, it's a little nerve racking I think we'll do fine. They're just coming out to inspect our home to make sure that we have properly functioning windows and door, as well as to make sure our water is not too hot and that we have proper storage and safety for everything. Right now we look nuts because there are safety latches on everything and the door knobs to the bathrooms and medicine closet have safety knobs installed so a small child cannot get in. It's hilarious to see grown adults struggle to get into the bathroom! After we get these two things out of the way we will have to complete the home study and hopefully after that we'll be matched!! Through this journey we've started to change our view on things. So far we've decided that a sibling group would be fine and that maybe a new born isn't what we want right now. We're now thinking more along the lines of 3-8 years old. Strange how time and prayer makes you see differently. We'll keep you posted on how things go. Thanks for all the love and support.

  1. Chris and Stacey,
I am so happy for you guys and that you finally are seeing the blessings God had planned for you all along. She is absolutely beautiful!!!
Chad and I are going through the same thing but it's been a year that the paperwork has been complete and in November we were approved to be parents. I have learned God's timing and have learned patience. I can't wait to see what he has in store for you.
I know you don't have any time on your hands now but I need to talk to someone else who has gone through this too that might could help. If you have any free time in the future please give me a call.
    Congrats again!
