It's been a while since our last post and so much has gone on that has been post worthy that I feel bad, but we have been so busy with everyday life that posting is usually not at the top of my list.
Chris turned 33 on Nov 6th. In normal Chris fashion, we didn't do anything major. I think we made burgers and enjoyed a night at home with one another. He's so simple. I guess I should admire that about him, but sometimes he just zaps the fun out of celebrating anything for him.
Our turn toward Thanksgiving was pretty good. Although I was restless in my thoughts of wanting to travel to South Bend to spend time with everyone up north. We got to go in early November last year and we had so much fun that it just seemed right to go this year. My loving husband being the way he is thought I was nuts until his brother mentioned the same thing days later. Little did they (South Bend Family) know we were planning to ambush their holiday. With high hopes and the spirit of adventure in us we attempted to plan a brief trip...that is until the reality of being broke and the price of airline tickets days before a major holiday being for the rich smacked us in the face! Needless to say Thanksgiving was pretty good this year AT HOME. We spent the day hanging out with Chris' family, eating too much and probably having one too many glasses of wine, but it was nice. It's always awesome to just be able to hangout with people you love and just relax and enjoy each others company even if they're who you see everyday. **We did start an amazing tradition that I hope to do with more of our family next year. We both had the pleasure of delivering food to the less fortunate and it blew us away. To see how God works through people who had so little, yet are still so happy brought us to tears. It's amazing how such a simple gesture as offering food can brighten the smile on someones face. By no means are we tooting our horns. We simply want to challenge everyone to do this with their family or loved one. You will come out a changed person!
Now that it's December we're both looking toward Christmas. With much delight I can say we are 4 people away from being DONE CHRISTMAS SHOPPING!! Chris gets onto me every year about starting so early, but he is the first one in December to tell people we're almost done 8 days into the month. Story of my life, I tell ya! To be honest this is not one of my favorite holidays. I think as I've gotten older I've totally gotten sucked into the whole commercial hoopla. December seems to whiz by and before I know it we're taking down the tree and the lights that I feel like we just put up! It's crazy! I can only imagine how people with kids feel. Well I think that's just about it. We hope that everyone is doing well and that you have a wonderful Christmas!!
Love The Kotowskis
