We had the joy of sharing one of our favorite Halloween past times with our mentee Akash this year...CARVING PUMPKINS! To our wonderful surprise he had never carved one before. Chris and I are so dorky that we couldn't wait to share with him the technique of picking out the perfect pumpkin and what was the best way to place the stencil and what tool scooped out the guts the best. I'm sure he thought we were nuts, but we were just so excited to be making memories with him. We couldn't have asked for a better time. We had good music, beautiful weather and such fun converstaion. I will have to say Chris kept with his normal tradition of picking out the hardest design and fussing the whole time he was carving. Akash and I on there hand picked went simple yet creative and in the end it paid off. He had a super cool wolf and I had the spooky haunted house. I am so glad to say we had such a great time and can't wait to hang out again. Thanks Akash! :)
