Going to the beach is so much fun on so many different levels. As a kid we enjoy going to the beach to build the worlds biggest sandcastle or to collect so many shells that your mom and dad tell you put some back because they aren't all going home with you. The waves are enormous and and the fear or what's in the water that could eat you never crosses your mind. Sand in all of your personal places is never an issue and why the lady down the way is giving you the stink eye when you were only just shaking your towel out doesn't even register in your little brain. As an adult going to the beach and spending hours building sand castles seems more like a long let down. What are ya gonna do with it after you've built it? Most sandcastle adventures go like this...columns perfect...check, droopy tree forest in full splendor...check, mote properly dug and draw bridge functioning..check and before you know it...the darn tide has snuck in and your damn dreams of the worlds biggest and best castle are now staring back at you in a hard, rounded mound of poo! Going in the water, what a wager between the mind and the facts we've all learned from watching way too much Discovery Channel. You make a deal with yourself before you go in to not think about the little warm spots of pee that you're more than likely going to encounter or that tiny little gelatinous creature floating around just waiting to cling to any extremity it can, but it's your choice, you take the good with the bad. As for personal places...as adults your mind seems to be more aware of other peoples personal places then your own when you're at the beach. Some people don't care if theirs are exposed, I mean who wouldn't think a completely white bathing suit would not be a appropriate for a full grown lady wear or that showing your butt cheeks is completely acceptable! I personally think it's sexy...not!! Honestly what are people thinking? Word to the wise...yes, you look fat in that two piece and no it's not just the mirror making you look that way. Red is not a shade of tan and if you do decide to apply please don't do it right on top of me!! When trying to find a spot to park you fanny and the 12lbs of junk you've brought a long with you please don't park it where I could reach out and touch you. There's a whole beach here for heavens sake give me a little bit of room and just because tiny Tommy thinks it's cute to throw food at the seagulls doesn't me that the other adults around you enjoy getting pooped on their heads! The beach...fun for all ages!!
