Charleston Tea Plantation

Saturday was girls day out with the masha and the fasha. Brit, Dana and me were treated to a morning at the Charleston Tea Plantation and Irvin Vineyard on Wadmalaw Island and then lunch at California Dreamin'. We had a great time and learned lots of neat things about the ONLY tea grown in America. Did you know that Lipton started the original tea farm in Summerville, SC but when his family didn't want to carry on the business the tea plants were left to grow wild and unruly until several years later when they were uprooted and moved to their current location where they are harvested today! Pretty neat. We didn't stay long at the Irvin Vineyard because we were too early for their wine festival and they were only setting up so it wasn't like we could browse the booths while waiting...there's always next time! Overall I had a great day getting to just relax and have fun with my fam.
