We decided to take a trip up to Spartanburg to visit Chris' aunt and uncle this past weekend. It was double the adventure because Ray's clan joined us! Going to Spartanburg is always a relaxing treat. There's something about waking up slowly and sitting at the table drinking coffee and just hanging out. Or lounging on the couch snuggled up watching TV. Even though these are things that we can do in our own homes it just seems a little sweeter there. This time we decided that we would take the boys on their first hiking excursion to Caesars Head. So we got started on Saturday and headed off to hike when we were greeted with the storm that brought all of the tornadoes in NC. We were certain that hiking would not be in the cards but we pressed on. Good thing we did. The weather turned out to be beautiful and the hike went well. The only thing that we had to deal with were the heavy winds. We had to be sure to hold on the the boys extra tight! :) Overall I think it was a nice experience for them. After being on the mountain we headed home to enjoy a great family meal and guitar with Uncle Dan. Chris and I love to sit and listen to him play all night long. This too was a first for Brandy and the boys and they really enjoyed it. Overall it was a really good time.
